Joining PPL & VPL
PPL & VPL issue licences to users of sound recordings and music videos. The revenue collected is then distributed to our record company and performer members.
Registering a record company’s repertoire and joining PPL & VPL is free and ensures that company will get its share of the revenues collected. In 2007 licence fee income for PPL was £115 million which after operating expenses meant £99.5 million was available for distribution to record companies and performers. For VPL, in 2007 licence fee income was £10.1 million which after operating expenses meant that £8.96 million was available for distribution to record companies.
