International revenues

The popularity of music created by PPL’s registered performers and record company members means that their sound recordings are among the most broadcast and publicly performed tracks around the world.

This makes international revenues a potential for revenue growth and PPL is determined to collect as much money as possible to distribute to its rightful owners.

In excess of 47 territories around the world have an equivalent organisation to PPL, collecting broadcasting and public performance revenue and other sources of revenue which may not exist in the United Kingdom, such as private copying, rental, audio visual communication to the public and cable retransmission.

As a result, during the last few years, PPL has set up a number of agreements with similar licensing organisations in other countries.

We continue to develop these relationships and we are in constant talks to add to the list of territories and licensing organisations that participate in the scheme.

To receive a share of those revenues, performer members can complete an international mandate to give PPL the legal right to collect revenues earned by their work in other territories. Just like registering as a performer with PPL, signing the mandate costs nothing and will allow you to receive revenues from the use of your repertoire around the world.
