The claims process explained

In a perfect world, PPL would have complete performer line-ups for all registered sound recordings. However, on some recordings this data is incomplete. Performers can help rectify this using PPL’s Claims process.

To submit a claim to PPL, a performer must fulfil several criteria, the most important of which is being registered with PPL. Click here to register with PPL.

Performers can make claims on tracks within the Active Recording List. This is a list containing all of the tracks that can be claimed for. Sound recordings are added to this list annually if they have received a level of airplay agreed by PPL’s Performer Board.

Registered performers can access the Active Recording List via their myPPL account to search for the recordings they performed on and to check that they are correctly named in the list of performers on those recordings.

A claim can be made where a performer’s contribution is not listed or is incorrectly listed. Performers will also need to provide evidence to support their claim.
